We left Saturday morning to drive down to Minneapolis for the weekend. On our drive down, we stopped in Detroit Lakes to get some coffee at Lake Brew. It was our first time trying it there, and it was pretty good. There were a few spots on the drive where the autumn colors were looking really good, so that was nice to see for a while.
When we got there, the first place that we went was the Mall of America. We walked around for a bit and did a little shopping. We wanted to try and go on one ride while we were there. It was really busy, so we decided to do that after we checked out a few things. We chose to go on the log ride, and the line turned out to be around a two hour wait. We waited for it, and it was rough at times. We had a lot of good talks, and the ride was worth it at the end.
After we got done at the Mall of America, we went to Uncle Randy and David’s house and unpacked our stuff. We had dinner reservations, so we showered and got ready shortly after we got there. After we got ready, we headed downtown to have dinner at The Melting Pot. Once we got there, we went over the menu and were excited to try the food. The food was outstanding. We had four courses. We started with salads, then had the cheese fondue in the Alpine flavor with the dippings. We then got our main dishes in the Mojo flavor with our different meats. Reganne did the steak lovers option, and Quinn did the surf and turf. All of it was delicious. To end it, our chocolate fondue in the Flaming Turtle flavor was so good. We didn’t know if we would be able to eat it all, but it turns out we had no problem. It was such a good meal.
After we finished dinner, the night was still pretty early and we didn’t have any plans. Quinn looked up some things to do, and we decided to walk right around the block to go to an escape room. They said there was a small group about to start in fifteen minutes, so we hopped in with them. The escape room we did was a dig site-themed one. It was somewhat challenging, and we had one hour to solve it. We ended up solving it with just under two minutes to spare. It was really fun, and we had a great time.
On Sunday, we woke up somewhat early to make sure we could get to the game in time and check out the atmosphere. We grabbed some coffee before riding the subway. When we got on, it wasn’t too packed, but after a few stops it was completely full. Once we got to the stadium, we walked around for a bit and checked things out. Quinn competed in a tug of war challenge, and they beat the Eagles fans 3 to 0, which wasn’t even a challenge. After finishing everything outside the stadium, we went in and got to our seats. The seats were really good and only three rows from the bottom. It was awesome, and we were able to enjoy a great game. The Eagles ended up beating the Vikings, but it was still a great time.
After the game, we stopped at another coffee shop and then hit the road. It was a weekend filled with activities, but it was such a good time!
